Domain Privacy
When a .com or .net domain is registered, personal contact information such as name, address, email address and phone number must be supplied as part of the registration process (as per regulatory requirements). Once a domain name is registered, these contact details are immediately stored and made available through a public WHOIS database that is freely accessible to the public.
Domain Privacy is a proxy registration service provided by Domain Privacy Services (http://www.domainprivacyservices.com.au) allowing domain registrant information to be hidden from public access, by substituting details with Domain Privacy Services’ information instead.
NOTE – Unfortunately domain privacy services are not allowed for .com.au or .net.au domains, as it’s against the Australian domain name authority (auDA) rules.

Domain Privacy services allow registrants to retain their domain rights without compromising their personal information, while at the same time ensuring adherence to regulatory policies that prohibit the use of fake whois information.
Domain Privacy service is currently available on .COM and .NET domain names. It can be added to both new and already registered domains.
When you register a domain name WHOIS information is captured as per regulatory requirements, storing the full name, address, email, contact phone numbers of the domain name registrant. Domain Privacy hides this information and forwards important correspondence to you
No. The domain name must be registered with us. You can transfer your domain name to Aussiecom then we can add Domain Privacy to your domain.
.COM and .NET
.AU domain names have different policies and regulation for the registration and management of domain names, which include a higher level of protection of personal information from public access. The registrant entity, the registrant and technical contact names and email addresses are the only details available to the public from the .au whois database.

If a company needs to see your details in the whois details for your domain, Aussiecom can temporarily turn off domain privacy, then turn it back on for you when you’re ready.
No, the domain privacy will not transfer to the new domain provider UNLESS they also use the same domain registrar as Aussiecom (the registrar is “TPP Wholesale”).
Yes. Registrant rights are retained, including the capacity to cancel, renew, sell, transfer, re-direct your domain as well as domain certification, renewal reminders and free trials. Please see Domain Privacy Services‘ website for full terms for this product.
When adding Domain Privacy to a domain name (currently .COM and .NET are supported) the ownership of the domain name will be listed as Whois Privacy Services – Domain name. The contact details will route mail to TPP Wholesales PO Box, faxes to TPP Wholesales fax processing queues and emails will be forwarded directly to the domain name owner.
The domain privacy service costs just $9.90 inc GST per domain per year.
